It was 12 Months ago we reported 2857 was the highest mileage locomotive on the SVR for 2013. She completed nearly 11,000 miles last year, and she’s not far off this year either! With 7000 miles racked up by the end of August, we are almost certain to reach at least the 10,000 mark in 2014 too.

Other than that, the locomotive continues to perform well. The loose bushes on the rods were attended to in the early summer, some work on the injectors carried out during the last washout and some loose bolts were tightened. These working loose is only natural after racking up a few miles post overhaul!
