Winter Maintenance, that has been the main focus of the past few months. The broken spring that was replaced pre-Christmas obviously had friends who wished to be replaced with it, since both a loco spring and tender spring failed during the Christmas time. These were both replaced as part of the winter program, along with some work on various other bits relating to the springs.
The opportunity was taken to give the steam valves for the injectors some TLC. One of the injectors was blowing by relatively heavy towards the end of the season, so the decision was taken to sort the problem before it got worse. Other steam valves were also given attention at the same time.
It had been hoped to remove the rods during this time to attend to a couple of loose bushes, but that job has been pushed back until later in the year.
