Following re-entry in to service, 2857 has proved to be a reliable old workhorse at the SVR. She has attained the highest mileage of the SVR fleet, covering well over 7500 miles to date. This figure is anticipated to me much nearer 9000 come the end of the season.

In October the loco suffered from a broken spring on one of the leading driving wheels. This was changed to keep the loco in operation, however after a charter on October 15th 28 was then stopped to have some pins which secure the springs replaced. These were badly worn and needed replacement to allow the loco to carry out tis duties over the Christmas period.
