Description
LMS 1939 – Settle & Carlisle Railway. Patriot No.5514 ‘Holyhead’ and Black 5 No.5042 glide down from Mallerstang Common over Smardale Viaduct towards Crosby Garrett and Appleby with an express for Glasgow. The viaduct crosses over the N.E. line from Tebay via Kirkby Stephen and Stainmore over to Darlington.
