LMS-Manchester c.1938. The Vanguard of the Patriot Class No.5500 ‘Patriot’ passing Longsight MPD heading an up express for Euston. The magnificent former LNWR signal gantry was one of several controlling the approaches to London Road Station and lasted to electrification in 1959.
